We are seeing heads-up displays becoming integrated in the vehicle in an effort to enhance the driver’s visual comfort and safety.

A driver’s vision and concentration can be disturbed if visual information is badly displayed or overabundant on an instrument panel, but these problems can be hugely reduced by using efficient HUD systems. Virtual prototypes help to improve and optimize the significant parameters which contribute to the efficiency of an HUD.
OPTIS software allows you to model & optimize lighting performance, and simulate the HUD as it will really be seen in the driving environment.
You may take into account surrounding and outdoor lighting, as well as glare from oncoming headlights or sun. Optimize your choice of colors, and light sources to improve perceived quality. Use OPTIS’ advanced Visual Ergonomics tools to calculate the probability that information displayed on an HUD will be both visible and readable, enabling you to optimize parameters.

OPTIS has adopted the International Color Consortium (ICC) standards, and applied them to its range of SPEOS Technology-based software.

The SPEOS technology is integrated in 3 of the world’s most widely used CAD software : SOLIDWORKS® and CATIA V5® by Dassault Systèmes, and Pro/ENGINEER® by PTC.
